What does TempMail address mean?

TempMail address, temp mail address, temporary email address and disposable email address all describe a short-lived receiving address. You can copy it into a low-risk form to receive verification codes, signup confirmations, download links or one-time mail.

On TempMail.md, the current TempMail address is tied to the temporary inbox on the page; keeping the page open lets the same address continue showing new mail.

Address vs inbox: what is the difference?

The temporary email address is what you copy into a form; the temporary inbox is the page that shows received mail. After generating the address, keep the current page open while the inbox shows the code or confirmation message.

Good uses for a disposable email address

Good uses include low-risk verification codes, trial signups, newsletter confirmations, event registrations, download confirmations, one-time receipts and inbox testing. These usually need one or two short-term messages.

Do not change addresses while waiting for a code

After copying the address, do not generate a new address while waiting for a code or confirmation email. Generating a new address replaces the current temp mail address, so the previous inbox may no longer show the message you are waiting for.

Do not use temp mail addresses for long-term accounts

Do not use a temp mail address for banking, payments, medical services, school, work, government services, long-term subscriptions, password recovery, two-factor recovery or any account you need to control later. Temporary email addresses expire and may be replaced by a new address.
