When temporary email works well for verification codes or OTP

Temporary email works well when a website only needs to contact you once: trial signups, download confirmations, newsletter confirmations, event pages, one-time receipts, low-risk app verification codes and ordinary OTP emails. Using TempMail keeps your real inbox out of another form and can reduce follow-up marketing or tracking.

If you need long-term account control, billing notices, password recovery or important records, use a permanent email address. A temporary inbox expires, and generating a new address replaces the current address.

Basic steps for receiving a verification code or OTP

  1. Open TempMail.md and wait for the page to prepare a temporary email address.
  2. Copy the temporary email address and paste it into the website or app that needs email verification.
  3. Keep the current page open while the inbox refreshes automatically.
  4. Read the verification code, OTP or confirmation link, and open links only when the sender is expected and trusted.

Why you should keep the page open

The current public TempMail.md inbox lifetime is one hour. One browser session keeps one active inbox at a time, and generating a new address replaces the current address. Keeping the page open while waiting for a verification code or OTP lets automatic refresh continue and helps avoid switching to a new address by mistake.

How to read verification messages safely

Message HTML is sanitized before display, and scripts and forms are disabled to reduce malicious email risk. Even so, open only messages you are expecting. If the sender, domain or content looks wrong, close the message detail and verify through an official channel instead.

Why some websites do not accept disposable email

Some websites block disposable email domains or require a long-term mailbox to reduce abuse, support billing and handle account recovery. TempMail.md does not promise every service will accept a temp mail address and does not recommend using temporary email where a third-party service does not allow it.

Verification codes and OTP that should not use temporary email

Do not use temporary email for banking, payments, medical services, work, school, government services, password resets, two-factor recovery or any account you must continue controlling later. Temporary email is for low-risk, short-term use, not long-term identity, security recovery or sensitive records.
